Creativity Vs Innovation Management

If like me you ask the question of defining what innovation and creativity in recent years and that you came to the same conclusion that everyone There was his definition ... I can only agree with you. By cons, there are sometimes very interesting points of view in these battles of definitions, which are normal, beneficial, and also concepts that are inherent to many cross-trades! Here Luke Brabandere explains the difference between creativity and innovation, and this topic has generated a lot of interest in 2008, since it is a good amount of references to this period (I am rather late, but it does not matter I am pleased by writing on the subject).

After listening to this short video you can understand that innovation would deal with the frequent production changes, where creativity can change the view. L.de Brabandere up here incremental innovation as a continuous improvement remains in the rules, when creativity is at least one exchange rules. With this definition when Bic realizes that its activity is not limited to the production of writing instrument (pen), but in the business of disposable items, the company little afford to invent the disposable lighter.

It is important to understand that L.de Brabandere comes at a strategic level business then he advises leaders. His definition of creativity is different definitions of creativity on the capabilities of the individual for example, among psychologists Amabile, Lubart, Mac Kinnon, Osche and Sternberg
"Creativity is the ability to achieve production is both novel and adapted to the context in which it occurs. "
In this definition: "New" is understood as original and unexpected "

can deduce that there is a difference between individual creativity and creative phases of the company mentioned L.de Brabandere appears here establishes . I also find it relevant to define the potentially disruptive innovations as a questioning of one or more paradigms. Indeed, breakthrough innovations such as digital camera that challenges the paradigm of "photographic quality" show the defintion of L.de Brabandere may apply at lower levels of technology. I see two great interests: First attempt to evaluate and compare the degrees of failure in innovation in order to compare, for example, and secondly to try to identify avenues for innovations in the Using the concepts of decomposition paradigms constituents so as to consider changes. This latest proposal should be compared to the method of conception (if not creative) as the CK theory which breaks down concepts such as attributes.

L.de Brabandere is associate director of Boston Consulting Group has . When his book came out the value of ideas in 2007, Le Journal du Net had interviewed him the role of creativity in the ability to change the company and found this interview on Youtube seems to be the same time. His most recent book is magical thinking, logical thinking is a book that I recommend to all those who would abuse deductive thinking. Thank you to Tom, who I assume is in charge of this video: Tom blog.

Invitation Wording To A Ball

Read this morning

Many people say that a single girl should hide the fact she has a cat as long as possible. Especially boys. I understand the principle. Even if my cat is the coolest cat in the world (he thought the wash and other cats), it does not interest people. So I try to make an effort and not talk about my cat as cat lovers.

A colleague of a friend goes further in applying the principle: an unmarried girl should hide the fact she has a cat, because it is the turn-off for the guy. (It even says it should hide until she sleeps with the guy, because if the guy comes home and sees a girl cat, it might as well leave.)

I partially understand the principle. I would not lie, but it is true that it is not necessary to refer to someone recently that I met a cat. On the other hand, I will not deny it either.

So when my new health professional saw the cute cat hair on my shorts (shorts that were in the bottom of my wardrobe and have emergency exits for my appointment when the Secretary told me that I should have shorts) and he asked me if I a cat, I said yes. To which he replied "Oh shit, I'm allergic."

Women Stragling A Men

The creative potential inherent in every person but many other parameters have an influence on creative output. In the field of research and innovation, creativity is central, see the spine on which rests the whole eco-system of the company. The reason is simple and logical and there is a need for perpetual renewal to adapt, anticipate seeing the market, find new technologies, new uses. The competition is tough now, little new with sharp teeth and the ogre exacerbates economic competition, especially since the advent of Web 2.0. Today we can observe such as Google begins to leave its sphere of web and starting to encroach on the turf of Microsoft that has long enjoyed a virtual monopoly. The Giants are not eternal, Nortel is recent evidence. Creativity in research to create new knowledge and new products is an essential Fountain of Youth.

Often the secret ingredient and magic of creativity in business is represented by the room for creativity. However this is not the only environmental parameter that will provide inspiration to those who want to create. Indeed, several factors interact optimizing or degrading creative productions.
In the field of research, whether private, academic or public, it is essential to create new knowledge. Yes, creativity is also involved in research, despite appearances. The creative is not only an artist, designer or geek.

The concept CKE
The concept of Creative Knowledge Environments (CKE) seeks to better understand creativity and the factors the fostering. This concept focuses primarily on the industrial context and the research by studying interactions between individuals and their working environment. This includes academic research, R & D or private research. It also seeks to identify and classify, with previous studies on creativity, factors that influence positively (or negatively) the production of new knowledge and innovations.

This concept is based on 8 key elements from the literature in research creativity from psychology research, innovation management, history or sociology. The pillars of this framework are: the characteristics of the task, field of study, individuals, group characteristics, the general working conditions individual, physical environment, business, and organizational characteristics of the company. These elements interact and superimposed according to the conditions and contexts to influence creativity. Thus CKE seeks to better understand the creative environment holistically. This framework does not portray one type of creative environment or a single level. We could categorize these environments as follows: micro, meso and macro.
  • Micro: work teams, work groups or individuals
  • Meso: research institutions, companies
  • Macro : Government policy, enterprise policy
Concept to enrich
To date, this framework for research on environmental influences on creativity is a recent and remains problematic for several reasons. The first is the difficulty of assessing the creativity in this field. What criteria are used? Who is able to assess? One might think to use criteria such as number of scientific citations, the number of products sold from these innovative research, estimating the social impact arising?
In addition, these types of environments that provide a basis for interesting study, are unlikely nombreuses.Il would be interesting to learn about the characteristics of creative environments in developing countries relative to developed countries, something we know better today.
It is known that interactions with other people or other environmentally positive role in capacity créer.Une third deficiency relates to the duration and the interactions necessary to maximize creativity. What are the contributions of participating in conferences or visiting other research centers? These areas should be very little different or dissimilar? These are questions that remain unresolved.
Finally, how interact and what are the interactive effects of different strata (micro, meso, macro) in research and innovation? What government policy (macro level) allows optimal research and innovation in research institution in the regional / national level (meso level) or by research teams / individuals (micro level)?

What can we learn today?
As we stated previously, it is necessary to know more, and much remains to be done in order to optimize the environment for research and innovation.
However, what is known today can move forward and improve our environment travail.Quelques examples would be:
  • Establish a climate of trust and openness
  • Create an organization to ensure multidisciplinary and trans heterogeneity of ideas, views, knowledge and perspective
  • Encourage and improve communication between professionals from different backgrounds
  • Encourage mobility and the emergence of entrepreneurship
  • Reduce the emphasis on professional efficiency to allow free time that leaves free rein to creativity
This framework is very rich and interesting. If you feel concern for creativity in a holistic manner, the evolution and enrichment of the concept is to follow ...
